Make your own Compost Bin

How to make a compost bin

Making a compost bin is seen as the perfect way of turning kitchen and garden waste into rich, crumbly compost. This will make crops thrive as well as helping sustain the environment by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.

To build your own compost bin you will need:

  • Some old wooden pallets (local businesses, especially couriers, often have pallets no longer needed)
  • Wooden stakes
  • And some old rope and a few screws!

Local charity Worcestershire Resource Exchange also has plenty of useful timber off-cuts. They can be contacted by calling 01905 726796
