Recycle Now Week 2009

Recycle Week runs from Monday 22 – Sunday 28 June 2009: this year the Recycle Now campaign is encouraging us all to think about the many easy ways we can waste less and make more of the resources we have.

We’ll do the can-can to get you recycling more!

This year Recycle Week will encourage people to try something new in an effort to go greener and cut back on the waste we all produce. From recycling more of everyday items like glass and plastic bottles to minimising food waste or composting at home, there are lots of opportunities for everyone to get involved and all reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill.

The team are asking residents to log onto www.recyclenow.com  and make a pledge to waste less this recycle week.

Examples of pledges are 'home compost my kitchen and garden waste' and 'use my leftovers for lunch the next day'

During the week lots of road shows with be taking place across the county to encourage residents to make a pledge to waste less:

  • Tuesday 23rd June, Sainsbury Store, St Johns, Worcester
  • Tuesday 23rd June, Co-Op Pershore
  • Thursday 25th June, Market Place, Redditch
  • Thursday 25th June, Crown Gate, Worcester
